Poetry is a clear window into the heart. I often write to express the thoughts and emotions inside me--not knowing what will appear on the page but invariably discovering more about myself and the world around me.

No Waiting Required

Once upon a time
Isn't that how all fairy tales start?
What about this time?
What about now?

What do I need to do?
What's next?
What's the right answer?
For the rest of my life?

So many questions
So much thinking about what to do
What actions need to be taken
To get the life that I want
To figure it all out

Slow down
Choose something different

Who do I want to be?
What matters to me?
I can start being him right now
Start living that way

No waiting required
No hoping required
No someday
No once upon a time

I choose to live
Live authentically
Be real
Be me

I wonder what will come of it
It sure will be fun to find out!
